Ricardo Cornejo

For Ricardo Cornejo, photography is not just an aspect of life—it is the axis upon which his entire world spins.

Born in the heart of Ecuador, Ricardo developed his eye for photography amidst the rich tapestry of his homeland. His artistic style began to take shape early on in the treasure-filled rooms of his mother’s antique shop, where history and aesthetics intertwined. After earning his degree in advertising in Quito, Ricardo moved to Miami and later attended the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, where he completed his studies in Marketing & Advertising.

Now based in Miami but frequently traveling, Ricardo carries his camera like a constant companion, always ready to capture the fleeting interplay of light and shadow, the spontaneous bursts of human emotion, or the silent eloquence of architectural forms. His work is known for its masterful use of light and geometric compositions, combining technical precision with an innate sense of artistry.

Specializing in portraits, architecture, and lifestyle photography, Ricardo has collaborated with iconic brands, bringing their visions to life with his unique approach. His philosophy is simple yet profound: “I believe in Magic.” Each project presents a new opportunity for Ricardo to explore different techniques, locations, lighting setups, and concepts, always pushing creative boundaries. His dedication to his craft and constant pursuit of new challenges have allowed him to find beauty in every element that crosses his lens, no matter the circumstance.

When he's not working with clients, Ricardo invests his time in personal projects, collaborating with other creative minds  and brands to produce striking photography and film. One of his key projects, his ongoing book titled "Viva-Luz," began six years ago. In this series, he travels the world capturing unique natural light, creating images that showcase the beauty of photography in its most organic form. Some of these works are featured in galleries and restaurants across Miami, including The Alter in Wynwood, David Rosen Gallery in the Design District, CCE Miami and NY
